Opucation E-Learning Private Limited
Effective 30 September 2026
1Who we are
GoatRicher ("the app") is owned and operated by Opucation E-Learning Private Limited, a company registered in India ("we", "us", "our"). We are the data fiduciary for the personal data described in this policy under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do about it. It applies to the GoatRicher mobile app and any related services we operate.
2What we collect
Information you give us:
Name, email address, profile picturefrom your Google account, when you sign in.
Profile detailsyour display name, handle, bio and the exam you are preparing for, if you set them.
Phone number — optionalyou may add a mobile number on your profile. It is entirely optional, the app works exactly the same without it, and you can remove it at any time by clearing the box and saving. It is never shown on your profile, never visible to other students, and never shared with anyone outside GoatRicher. We use it only to contact you about your account or your exam preparation. It is deleted with your account.
Content you createnotes, discussions, comments, test series, question sets, reels and classes you write or upload.
Private and group messagesmessages you send to another student one-to-one, or inside a group, so the conversation shows to everyone in it. They are stored on our servers and are not end-to-end encrypted.
Pictures and videosimages attached to discussions, videos you upload as reels or classes (with their sound), and your profile photo. The app uses your camera and microphone only while you record a video to post, and opens your gallery only when you choose a video.
Files you sharePDFs you attach to a discussion or a reply. Anyone using GoatRicher can download a file you attach, so do not attach anything private. The first file you send is checked by us before anyone can download it. When you delete the post or reply, or your account, the file is removed from our storage within a day.
Reports you submitwhen you report content, we record what you reported and why.
Help and support requestswhen you send a request from Help & support: your name and email address, your message, the topic, the exam you are preparing for, and your app version and phone type, so we can answer you. We reply inside the app. Requests are kept while your account exists and are deleted with it.
Ideas you suggestwhen you send an idea from Suggest an idea: your name, the idea, its type, the exam you are preparing for, and your app version and phone type. We group ideas that ask for the same thing to decide what to build next, and may tell you when your idea is built. Other students never see your ideas. Ideas are kept while your account exists and are deleted with it.
Information created as you use the app:
Study and activity dataquizzes attempted, scores, streaks, ranks, KiteCoins balance, challenge results, and which content you have viewed or liked.
Social connectionswho you follow, who follows you, follow requests, and anyone you have blocked.
Technical datainformation our hosting provider records to operate and secure the service, such as app version, device type, approximate region and error diagnostics.
Notification tokena code your phone gives us so we can send the notifications you allow, such as a new message, a new follower or a challenge from a friend. It is kept with your account, used only to deliver those notifications, never shared, and removed when you log out on that phone or delete your account.
What we do not collect: we do not ask for or store your postal address, date of birth, government identity numbers, payment card details or bank details. A phone number is the only contact detail we ask for beyond your Google account, and it is optional. We do not track your precise location. We do not use advertising identifiers, and the app carries no advertising.
3Why we use it
To run your accountsigning you in and keeping your work attached to you across devices.
To provide the app's featuresshowing your notes and discussions, saving your progress, running challenges and leaderboards, and letting people follow one another.
To keep the app safereviewing reported content, restricting accounts that break our rules, and preventing abuse.
To fix problems and improveunderstanding errors and how features are used, so we can make them work better.
To meet legal obligationswhere the law requires us to retain or produce information.
We rely on your consent, given when you sign in and when you choose to post content. Where we act to keep the app safe, we also rely on our legitimate interest in protecting users. You can withdraw consent by deleting your account.
4Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. We share only with the service providers who make the app work:
Google Firebasesign-in, database, file storage and server functions. Holds your account details, your content and your activity data. Servers are located in India (asia-south1).
Google Sign-Inverifies who you are. We receive your name, email address and profile picture; Google does not receive your GoatRicher content.
Bunny (bunny.net)stores and plays the reels and classes students upload. It receives the video, its title or caption, and no other account details.
Automated safety checksthe words, pictures and videos you post, and messages, are checked by an automated moderation service (OpenAI) to catch abuse before or soon after they are shown. It is used only for that check, not to train AI models, and nothing else about your account is sent.
AI toolsused to help produce and check the news summaries, questions and study material we publish. Your personal information is not sent to these tools.
We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to protect the rights and safety of our users.
5Content you make public
Notes, discussions, comments, reels, classes and test series that you publish are visible to other users of the app, along with your display name and profile picture. Anything marked private or saved as a draft is visible only to you.
Private and group messages are visible only to the people in that conversation. We do not read them as a matter of course. If someone in a conversation reports abuse to us (section 10), we may review the messages concerned, hide them, or restrict the sender.
Please do not put personal information you would not want others to see into content you publish. If you delete published content it is removed from the app, but we cannot recover copies other people may have taken, such as screenshots.
6Your rights, and deleting your data
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may ask us to give you a copy of your personal data, correct anything inaccurate, delete your data, or tell you who we have shared it with. You may also nominate someone to exercise these rights if you are unable to.
You can delete your account and its data yourself, at any time. Open GoatRicher, go to Profile, and choose "Delete my account and data". You are signed out straight away on every device, and your account is deleted 7 days later. If you log in again during those 7 days the deletion is cancelled and nothing is lost. (Version 1.0.1 of the app, the first release, deletes at once without the 7-day wait.)
After the 7 days, deletion permanently removes your account, your notes, discussions, comments, reels, classes, uploaded pictures and videos, profile, test history, statistics and social connections. Messages you have already sent may remain visible to the people you sent them to, in the same way as a message already delivered to someone's phone.
Once the 7 days have passed this cannot be undone and nothing can be recovered. If you would rather ask us to do it, write to the address in section 10 and we will complete the deletion within 30 days.
Two things survive deletion, deliberately: reports other people have made about content you posted, and any active restriction on your account. Removing these would let a restriction be avoided simply by deleting and re-creating an account. They are kept for up to 12 months, as set out in section 7, and are not used for any other purpose.
7How long we keep it
Your account and contentfor as long as your account exists. Deleting your account removes them 7 days after you ask, unless you log in again before then.
Moderation recordsreports and restrictions are kept for up to 12 months so repeated behaviour can be recognised.
Technical and diagnostic recordskept for a short period by our hosting provider, then discarded.
Records we must keep by lawfor as long as the law requires.
8Security, and what we cannot promise
Access to your account is protected by your Google sign-in; we never see or store your Google password. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on Google Firebase infrastructure, with rules that restrict who can read and write what. Only authorised staff can reach administrative tools.
No service can promise perfect security. If a breach occurs that affects your personal data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as required by law.
9Children, and accuracy of study material
GoatRicher is intended for users aged 18 and over, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Some study material and news summaries in the app are produced with the help of AI tools and reviewed by us. Despite that review, details can occasionally be wrong. The app is a study aid, not an authoritative source - please verify anything important against the original source before relying on it.
10Contact and grievances
For any question about this policy, or to exercise any right in section 6, contact our Grievance Officer:
We will acknowledge your request and respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
11Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the app changes in a way that affects your data. The date at the top always shows when it last changed. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
